Fortunately/Unfortunately

Hello, internets. Fortunately, I'm back. Unfortunately, I am terribly behind in my blog reading. I've missed a lot of good stuff while I was away. I hope to catch up with all of you soon!

Fortunately, we had a nice vacation. Unfortunately, a week isn't long enough. Fortunately, I did get to spend it with both my girls. Unfortunately, only one of them (Sarah) came home with me. Fortunately, Lindsey's BF broke up with her, so we don't have to worry about her running off with him. Unfortunately, she's heartbroken. Fortunately, she's in God's hands. Please pray that she will seek Him with all her heart.

Unfortunately, Sarah is not planning to stay beyond summer break. Fortunately, according to Proverbs 19:21, "Many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails." Unfortunately, we tend to make our own plans anyway. I am so thankful that God is in control. His plans are perfect, and He will not fail!

Fortunately, my 7-yr-old niece also came home with us for the summer. Unfortunately, Carl and Andrew are outnumbered 2 to 1. Fortunately, they don't seem to mind. Unfortunately, they still hog the remote!

Fortunately, you have reached the end of this post. Have a wonderful weekend!

What a great theme to write a post by! An easy, enjoyable read.

I'm on the edge of my chair to find out what's next. I love your perspective. God bless you and yours...

I heard someone do a Tarzan yell the other day as they drove by my place...was that you? ;D

Yay for the "fortunately's"! Boo for the "unfortunately's"!

Have a wonderful Friday and a great weekend, Brenda. :-)

Love and hugs,

Diane

A good lesson for us all, that our plans, are not always the Lord's plans for us.

My older kids are trying to learn that too. They will probably learn it slowly, as I have. Poor things.

I love this post! So it seems you have switched girls?? I'm thankful for the break-up, based on our conversation when we were together. Wouldn't it be nice if we would just always do what God plans??

There's more good news here than bad news which is nice. And I agree with PezMama - hit all read.

I've hit it a lot in the last few weeks. I simply can't keep up with everyone I follow right now and watching the number go up just makes me tense.

Glad you had a nice vacation, glad your little niece came home with you (and Sarah of course) and I'm really glad the boyfriend is out of the picture. Hate to know she's heartbroken but she'll survive.

Goodness. You have a full house again. Hooray! And you never know. Sarah might change her mind before summer ends.

The soap opera continues... (and I mean that in the nicest possible way).

My 16-year-old will be in Athens for a week starting on Wednesday. He is participating in a political camp. I haven't been to Athens in years and have no idea where I'm supposed to take him (hopefully someone will let us know before then!).

Great post, Brenda.

As an aside (not a dig at all) I have lately been trying to discipline myself not to use words like "fortunately/unfortunately."

I realize how you're using them here, (again, not digging at you) but I've gotten to where I hate to ascribe anything to Fortune. I try not to let "lucky" slip, either, or references to "chance."

I've tried to replace "I was fortunate" with "I was blessed," and words like "unfortunately" with "sadly."

(Not suggesting you have to do this, too, in order to climb up to my level of holiness, or anything like that. Just trying to "share." I'll leave quietly now before I get testosterone all over the place.)

Blessings to you. :-)
