At Least She Left a Note

Friday morning, Lindsey took me to work so she could take the car in for an oil change and run some errands. She had asked Sarah the night before to go with her, but Sarah told her to wake her up in the morning and ask her then. As we were getting ready to leave, I noticed that Sarah was up and out of bed, which was very unusual for that time of morning. She came in from the garage with her cell phone in hand, and I asked her why she was up so early. She told me her friend had called. It did seem odd, but I didn't think anything of it. Girls and their cell phones, you know.

So there I was at work without my car and cell phone because I had given it to Lindsey to use in case she needed to reach me. She called around 11 a.m. to tell me that Sarah was gone, and she read me the following note:

Lindsey,

Dad & Robin surprised me. . . they pulled in the driveway around 8:45. I went with them. Sorry it had to happen this way (says dad). I love ya'll and I will call ya'll later. again sorry.

Sarah

I haven't heard from her since. She isn't answering my calls, nor is her dad. Lindsey hasn't been able to reach them either.

I'm having a hard time putting a positive spin on this one. Anybody got any suggestions?

I've got some words but they're not very nice or uplifting so I'll keep them to myself.

I'm so sorry, Brenda. God is in control even when we can't see it. I'm praying, my friend...

Love and hugs,

Diane

I have a few rods for "dad". But, I'm sure you've got most of them already.

My heart sank when I saw the title of the post. I had a feeling this was coming.

I guess it's good that, at least, you know who she went with.

Praying, dear friend.

How's Lindsay doing?

I've been holding my breath since the last time you and I talked, hoping this wouldn't happen, Brenda. But I'll admit I'm not shocked. You can't make a girl that age stay where she doesn't want to be and I know this must be killing you. I'm so, so sorry.

You may not get a lot of verbal help here because we're all Christian bloggers and can't say what we're all probably thinking about your ex and his tactics.

I hope it helps you in some way to know how many of us out here hate that this happened and are praying for you and for her.

Oh Brenda,
I am so sorry this has happened. How to put a good spin on this? I can share what we have done in moments of uncertainty--we give the pain to God...to make something good happen! He takes whatever we offer Him....and works His glory. This will be my prayer for this situation....first, I will pray for His peace to wash over you.....and that He will take these unfair circumstances and bring His divine purpose to it. We have seen God work such miracles through such heartache....I pray He will do the same for you...and for your daughter.

Bless your mother's heart.

Diane

Oh, man, Brenda! What a sad mess. I'm trusting that she's okay. But her dad sounds like a real piece of work.

Thanks for your prayers for us, and we'll return the favor!
