More than you wanted to know about beta

Please, before you read any further, pray for Amy.

For those of you who have had trouble leaving comments from beta blogger to blogger or vice versa, there is a solution.

At the bottom of the comment box, if the blog allows anyone to comment, you'll see "Choose an identity" - this gives you three options:

a) Google/Blogger, which is supposed to allow you to use either account. So far, it hasn't worked properly. Hopefully they'll get that fixed soon.

b) Other, which allows you to use your name and your webpage/blog url. (This is the one I use.) It's the same as leaving comments on Typepad or Wordpress blogs, except your email address is not required. I like this option, because when you mouse over someone's name, you can see their URL rather than their blog profile number.

c) Anonymous, which is, of course, anonymous. If you use this option, you'll need to remember to put your identifying information in the comment box (name, URL) with your comment, unless you wish to remain anonymous.

Hope that helps! Comment away!

Don't want to jinx my luck so far....but I haven't had any difficulty. Of course, I'm still the old blogger instead of beta-blogger. Maybe they keep it simple for blogger dumbies!

Half the fun of blogging is commenting--so hope my luck stays the course!

Have a great weekend.

Arrrggghhh! I LOVE blogger!

There's no way I'm switching yet. And that means, of course, after 90% of all bloggers HAVE switched, those of us in the minority will start having problems.

So far, so good. But it's aggravating, isn't it? that we have to constantly be trying to outsmart blogger?

Whatever!

I tell you, I was one click away. And something told me, DON'T DO IT.

You're so brave. I just love you. My bestest friend is "Anonymous."

Hey Brenda,
I am sick about Amys relapse. I am drawn to her blog everyday. When I cant comment I say a prayer for her. How could I get a button for her? I noticed some people have one.
Hope you are having a blessed day.

Yes. Mommy Dearest helped me out on this one. Unfortunately, I will stick with Anonymous. And keeping poking fun at this little blogger vs. beta blogger sorority issue. :>)))

I didn't upgrade to beta.blogger and from the sounds of it, it's a good thing I didn't. Sorry you're having problems, but thanks for the tip on work-arounds.

I will be offering up a prayer for Amy.

Brenda, just curious, did I hear correctly that you don't have to work with html's in the sidebar or was I dreaming...lol

I agree with Barb, it's like being on the edge of the divingboard and knowing there's no turning around, that sooner or later you're going to have to jump. (((quiver))) lol

Hi Brenda,
Thanks for stopping in to visit me!
I've seen your face on several sites.
This is good info on Beta. I haven't switched yet. I've known several bloggers who lost their whole blogs when they changed. Yikes! The thought of that is scary!!!
Think I'll wait...
