Where Have You Been?
I was born and raised in Arkansas, and I moved to Georgia a little over two years ago. When I was a kid, our vacations were road trips. Twice, we drove west to Merced, California to visit relatives, and once, we drove north into Canada. When I was in high school, I went on a youth mission trip to Fort Wayne, Indiana. I've flown to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and vacationed several times in Pensacola, Florida. My first trip to the east coast was a weekend jaunt to St. Simon's Island a couple of years ago with my husband and our kids. On our second anniversary, we flew to San Francisco for a weekend honeymoon.
I hope one day to be able to say "I've been everywhere, man." Obviously, I've got a lot of ground to cover. How about you?
Where have you been?

I did this map too, Brenda, and was surprised at how localized I've been in my travels. Like you, there are huge sections of the country I haven't seen. That really bugs me. I should get out more, you know? You are definitely a southern girl! Ever considered venturing a little more northward?
Seriously, I really hope to see the northwest part of the country some day. Believe it or not, I live in Colorado and I've never been to Wyoming. For twenty some odd years we lived ninety miles from Wyoming. Yeah, I do need to get out more. Problem is, next time I can afford to travel, I'm headed for the Outer Banks! Never been there either. Sigh...
hmmm... I shall try to remain mysterious and not name all the places I have been. But, my favorite place is Charleston, SC. Love the architecture and dripping Southern charm. St. Simon's and Jekyl are places of my childhood. :>) I love the shells you can find there.
I figured it out :) WOw .. I've been busy. But there are so many places I still long to see.
I tried to post my map, but it was too wide. It was interesting to see my travels all laid out there, though. Thanks for the idea.
I did this too, before I actually was blogging publicly. But it's still there, in my archives!
You have been to quite a few places! Most all on the southern half! Now of course you know you haven't really lived until you've seen the northwest, right? ;)
Hello again. YOUR TAGGED!
Leaving, really fast, now. Bye!
This looks like fun and I went to the map and was amazed at how many places I have been. But someone closed it for me and now I have to do it over again. I'll have to see if I can figure out how to get it on my page.
I want to get to Georgia this fall to visit my DC's brother and family. I'd love to get to St. Simon's Island - I've read all of Eugenia Price's books which take place there.
I'm a Pieces too & love The Sound Of Music. I saw your name on daughter Tammy's Blog & thought I'd drop in & say Hi or Hey? as they say in the South. I see you haven't made it to Oregon yet. I liked your map idea.

Funny that no matter where we have been, we long to go somewhere else. Probably a spiritual lesson in that if I'd dig a bit. Reading all these places, the one that struck me was the woman who lives in Hawaii and said she just goes about her day, living her life and sort of forgets where she is. Most of us here, NOT in Hawaii are saving to go there....I have some places left to go see, and a few I wish I'd never been to. Again, a spiritual lesson lurking just below the surface...
Brenda:
I told you when I realized that we were both 40, born around the same time (I'm March 16, BTW), and both lived in Georgia. What I didn't realize until now is that you were also born and raised in Arkansas!!!!! I was born and grew up in Fort Smith, although I've now been in Georgia for 19 years. I wonder what else we have in common...?
